Between rainforests and volcanoes in Costa Rica

Costa Rica felt like a place where nature takes center stage. In Monteverde, we walked through the cloud forest, where trees were covered in moss and the air was filled with the sounds of birds and howler monkeys. Our guide pointed out a sloth sleeping high in a tree — a moment that instantly made us smile.

The hanging bridges were a highlight. As we walked above the treetops, we watched the clouds drift slowly through the forest. It felt like stepping into another world, one where everything is alive and breathing.

From Monteverde, we traveled to La Fortuna, where the Arenal Volcano towered over the landscape. We spent an afternoon in natural hot springs, surrounded by jungle and the sound of flowing water. It was pure relaxation.

During a hike in the national park, we spotted colorful frogs, toucans and even a group of coatis wandering curiously past us. Our guide told us about the “Pura Vida” lifestyle — the relaxed way of living in Costa Rica. And honestly, we felt it immediately.

We ended our journey on the Pacific coast, enjoying quiet beaches and an unforgettable sunset. As we sat on the sand, a sea turtle emerged from the water to lay her eggs. We watched in silence, completely mesmerized. It was a moment we will never forget.

Costa Rica touched us with its nature, warmth and simplicity. Thanks to Wanderly Travel, we were able to explore the country in a way that felt personal, adventurous and unforgettable.
