Among the clouds and the Andes in Peru
Peru felt like a land full of stories from the very first moment. In Cusco, we wandered through narrow streets lined with ancient stone walls, vibrant markets and friendly locals proudly sharing their traditions. The city breathed history — you could feel that something extraordinary had happened here.
Our journey to Machu Picchu began early in the morning. As the train moved through the Sacred Valley, we watched the sun rise over the mountains. The sky turned shades of pink and gold, and the river shimmered between the rocks. It felt like nature was guiding us back in time.
When we finally arrived at Machu Picchu, we fell silent. The ruins sat mysteriously among the clouds, surrounded by lush green peaks. Our guide shared stories about Inca history, but honestly, we were mostly overwhelmed by the atmosphere. It felt as if time had paused here.
Later, we hiked into the Andes toward Rainbow Mountain. The altitude made it challenging, but every step brought us closer to a landscape that looked almost unreal. The mountain appeared in layers of red, yellow, blue and green — as if someone had painted the earth with a brush.
We ended our journey in the Sacred Valley, visiting a local family who showed us how they dye wool using natural ingredients. They shared stories about life in the mountains, and their warmth touched us deeply.
Peru surprised us with its colors, culture and nature. Thanks to Wanderly Travel, we were able to experience the country in a way that felt personal, authentic and unforgettable.
