A road trip through canyons and deserts in the American West

Our journey through the American West began in Las Vegas, but we quickly left the neon lights behind and drove into the quiet of the desert. The road stretched endlessly ahead of us, flanked by red rock formations that seemed to shift color with every passing mile.

Our first major stop was Zion National Park. We hiked through The Narrows, where towering canyon walls rose dramatically on both sides. The water flowed gently around our legs as sunlight filtered through the narrow opening above. It felt like walking through a hidden world.

Next, we headed to Bryce Canyon, where the orange hoodoos stood like ancient guardians watching over the landscape. We woke up early to watch the sunrise. As the first light touched the rocks, they turned gold. It was one of the most breathtaking moments of our trip.

In Monument Valley, we joined a Navajo guide who drove us through the red desert. He shared stories about his ancestors, traditions and the meaning behind the rock formations. His words added depth to the landscape — as if we weren’t just seeing it, but feeling its history.

Our journey ended at the Grand Canyon. Standing at the edge of the vast canyon, we were overwhelmed by its scale. The colors, the silence, the depth — everything felt monumental. We stayed until sunset, watching the sky turn shades of pink and purple.

The American West touched us with its space, silence and rugged beauty. Thanks to Wanderly Travel, we were able to experience this road trip in a way that felt personal, adventurous and unforgettable.
