Safari magic in the Serengeti and Ngorongoro
Tanzania felt like a place where nature takes center stage. As we entered the Serengeti, we immediately understood why this region is so iconic. Endless plains, acacia trees silhouetted against the horizon and herds of animals grazing peacefully — it felt like stepping into a wildlife documentary.
Our first safari morning started early. The sky turned soft pink as the sun slowly rose. Soon, we spotted a pride of lions resting in the tall grass. Our guide explained they had just finished a hunt. The calm, the strength, the silence — witnessing it up close was incredible.
Later that day, we watched a large herd of elephants cross the road. A baby elephant paused to look at us curiously before trotting after its mother. We couldn’t help but smile. It felt like the animals allowed us a glimpse into their world.
The next day, we drove to the Ngorongoro Crater, one of the most extraordinary places we’ve ever seen. The descent into the crater was breathtaking. At the bottom, we saw zebras, buffaloes, flamingos and even a rare black rhino. The diversity of wildlife in one place was astonishing.
One of the most memorable moments of our trip was visiting a Maasai village. We were welcomed with singing and dancing, and a young Maasai woman shared stories about their traditions, their cattle and their way of life. Her pride and warmth touched us deeply.
Tanzania surprised us with its nature, culture and hospitality. Thanks to Wanderly Travel, we were able to experience this safari in a way that felt personal, adventurous and unforgettable.
