Between mountains and lakes in Interlaken
Switzerland is known for its picture‑perfect scenery, but it wasn’t until we arrived in Interlaken that we truly understood why. The town sits between two lakes — Lake Thun and Lake Brienz — surrounded by towering mountains. It felt like stepping into a postcard.
Our first day began with a ride on the famous Jungfrau Railway. As the train climbed higher, the landscape shifted from green valleys to a winter wonderland. At the top of Jungfraujoch — the “Top of Europe” — we found ourselves in a world of snow and ice. The silence up there felt almost magical.
Later, we took a walk along Lake Brienz. The water was so clear we could see the stones beneath the surface. The mountains reflected in the turquoise water, and the only sound was the gentle movement of the waves. It was a moment of pure peace.
The highlight of our trip came during an unplanned stop in a small mountain village. We drank hot chocolate in a wooden chalet while snowflakes drifted past the window. An elderly Swiss man told us stories about life in the mountains — traditions, snowy winters and flower‑filled summers. For a moment, it felt like we were part of his world.
Switzerland surprised us with its simplicity, beauty and warmth. Thanks to Wanderly Travel, we were able to experience this journey exactly the way we had hoped: calm, pure and unforgettable.
