Winter magic in Swedish Lapland
Swedish Lapland had been on our wish list for years, but nothing could have prepared us for the peace and beauty we found there. The moment we stepped off the plane, we felt the crisp winter air and saw the world transform into a white fairytale.
Our first adventure was a husky ride through the snowy forests. The dogs were eager to run, and as soon as we set off, it felt like we were gliding through a silent, untouched world. Only the sound of the sled and the dogs’ breath filled the air. It was a moment of pure freedom.
In the evening, we enjoyed a traditional Swedish dinner in a wooden lodge, warmed by a crackling fireplace. Our guide shared stories about Sami culture and life in the far north. Time seemed to slow down.
But the highlight of our trip came unexpectedly. While we were outside looking at the stars, a soft green glow appeared in the sky. Within minutes, the Northern Lights were dancing above us — bright green, purple and white. We stood hand in hand, speechless, as the sky came alive. It was a moment we will never forget.
Winter in Sweden is more than a destination. It’s a feeling. A blend of silence, nature and magic that stays with you. Thanks to Wanderly Travel, we were able to experience it exactly the way we had hoped.
